If you work at one of our locations during french school holidays you will encouter Daily Life Counselors with a B.A.F.A qualification. If you are curious about this qualification you are at the right place at the right time !
B.A.F.A stands for « Brevet d’Aptitude aux Fonctions d’Animateurs ». Huh? Well, it’s a childcare aptitude certificate required by the French Government. Yes, it is that serious. Under Youth and Sports regulation in France, a certain percentage of childcare workers in a summer camp must have this certificate.
If you join the American Village Team during any French school holidays you will work with several B.A.F.A qualified french counselors. Their childcare training experience affords a wealth of resources to our language counselor team. These counselors share their knowledge of safety guidelines, camper relationship development, child development and activity development.
We consider that both parts of the team ( Language counselors and Daily life counselors ) are essential to striking the perfect balance between fun, safety and language learning!
Ready for a new challenge ? You can also pass the BAFA qualification and hop on board of the America Village team as a Daily Life Counselor ! Find all of the informations you need on the Youth and Sports website : https://www.jeunes.gouv.fr/bafa-bafd
